My Family Legacy Project:
I am a trustee of a private family foundation. Almost 3 years ago, I contacted film editor, Eric Pomert, to discuss my idea for an audio-visual Family Legacy Project about my paternal grandparents. I am very pleased to write, that after 2 years of our initial conversation in 2018, the project has happily concluded, despite the pandemic, and has been gratefully received by my family with joy and appreciation! In particular, I would like to list a few of the important and meaningful aspects of my collaboration with Eric Pomert:
1. As the project's producer, the project goals and guidelines were identified and documented in a written contract between myself and Eric from beginning to the end of the project.
2. I always felt heard and understood by Eric during our frequent contacts throughout the project collaboration - always referring to our agreed goals and guidelines.
3. Areas of particular interest of mine was to ensure that the story-telling and the accompanying music accurately reflected the culture, the era and context of my family's story. It was essential and reassuring to partner with Eric who understood the concepts and personal mission of my project. Eric's expertise in story-telling, research and creative input not only enhanced but was essential to the success of the project.
4. Eric was able to coordinate a wonderful and professional audio-visual and production design team in the San Diego/Bay Area of California to ensure that the high standards and goals of this project were achieved.
5. To collaborate and complete this very personal and historical family project with Eric was a truly fulfilling, joy-filled and creative experience !
On behalf of my family and myself, I highly recommend the excellent and uniquely creative professional skills of film editor, Eric Pomert.
