This company is a scam . They told me that they well get my book published but never did. They also told me that if I'm not happy with their services, I'll get a refund. When I told them that I am not happy with the services they provided, they told me that they well not be refunding me my money . They also told me that they well no longer work with me since I refuse to let them into my profile which has personal information. 400 may sound good but your book won't get published and you well lose your money .

Stay away. Also, be careful they have multiple different companies operating under the same umbrella to hide their deception. I hired them to edit my book and do the marketing. The marketing wasn't bad but I had to pretty much redo the book and fix massive grammar mistakes. They also took 2k out of my account without permission. Once I threatened to get the police involed they returned the money. Now they are refusing to release the back door info to my website until I pay them back the money that THEY stole then returned. Avoid!

I would stay away from this company.
I paid $400 for proofreading services and after three weeks nothing. They kept changing the date of delivery until I finally requested a refund. The work they returned contained errors that a proofreader wouldn't miss. No response on refund request. So I am out $400. One star is too much to give. They're listed under American eBook Writers, Fremont, CA in the Better Business Bureau and rated an "F" for failure to respond to customers' complaints.

Shared from my Trust Pilot Review:

I am also noticing that the bad reviews are being pulled down instead of addressed by the company. I will continue to work with Trustpilot to show the information and keep these reviews up so that we can prevent others from having the same experiences.

UPDATE: No one has reached out to me from the company, other than to attempt twice to take down this review.

Its really weird that this company has so many positive reviews because word of mouth suggests otherwise. Could it be that the writing company is writing their own reviews? Not to mention, this organization has been flagged as a SCAM in just about every single writing community resource list I have seen (and read too late). I wish I would have seen that sooner and I would have completely avoided my experience. I just left a similar review over at Creative Writers Hub, since this company operates under two different names (red flag).

They are really great, kind, and convincing up front, even during the program - until you hold them accountable for their bad business practices, complete disrespect for the customer, lying, stealing, and they do NOT have a money-back guarantee as they advertise on their website. They change stories. They gaslight. They do everything they can do to get your money and then you, as the customer, no longer matter. Hidden costs, deception, and poor work. I stupidly allowed my bill to crawl all the way up to 10k, all because I wanted to have my dream of seeing my story published. The vision was allegedly clear and a plan would be set, but then there was ALWAYS another cost. They charged me for an Yahoo article that was supposed to be shared all over the world, but strangely was ONLY shared in India... hmm. When I communicated with them about it, they lied. They operate under two names, Creative Writing Hub, and American EBook Writers and though it says on their profile on the California Business Bureau that they operate in Fresno, CA, there are several overseas "offices." Ben told me that Daniel and Brian no longer worked at the agency BECAUSE of me, and then both miraculously showed up in the next business meeting. They will not allow you to meet the ghost writer, which is not best practice. They will not enter into an actual contract with you, even though it is advertised on their website. Newbie writers - please just go to Reedsy or find a writing coach locally. Don't trust these folks because they don't have your back.

I started my journey with American ebook writers in October. It has been a roller-coaster of misery with the exception of one happy moment. For signing up I was promised editing, promotionaI commercials and peesence on Amazon for starters. I was promised an audiobook for 3 books in less than 3 weeks if I agreed to let them complete the project. This was based on them having their own in-house studio and tons of voice actors available to them. They offered me a discount if i allowed them to do this. That was the first week in October. Last week I recieved the first 3 chapters of one voice Character. I was then updated and told 14 days to complete one book 11days ago. I have no faith that this is going to happen. In December they offered to sell my hardcover books in various stores throughout the US, Canada, and the UK. I paid the money to get 1500 books printed. After being told some distributors have sold out and are asking for more books, I paid to have 600 more books printed. I kept asking for the distributors list as well as copies of the hardcover books. All I've received up to this point are excuses if why they don't have the list or my sales revenue. The biggest excuse which I am the most skeptical of is that my original senior marketing Strategist, stole this information and the money from my sales. I enjoyed working with that guy and felt more comfortable with him than the rest of the team. I was informed of this by the 2nd week of January and promised things would get better and they seem to be getting worse. I've invested close to $20,000 in the promotion of my books with this company and have been let down in a big way. I am considering legal action at this point. Lastly don't be fooled by the good reviews once you've spoke to a member of the team you will note that the reviews all read in the same way they speak. If I recall the company is based in San Francisco and all of the workers are from Ukraine. I would bet money that the reviews are from the workers. Bottom line my research failed me and my next book will not be promoted by this company. Heck my current books are not being promoted by this company.

I have had a very bad experience with this company, including Ben, Frank, and Brian. I paid $2499 for a service. The day I started Frank was so insulting and inappropriate I asked for a refund. They have done no service and state "100% money-back guarantee". So far, since 1/13/2022, they have not refunded my money and have refused calls I made to the office and to their mobile phones. I can't tell if they are a scam or fly-by-night operation. This is not the real deal. Don't waste your money here, find a better company

Their articles are of the highest grade. They are not only thoroughly investigated and fact-checked, but the content is also interesting, pertinent, and suited to the voice of my brand. The writers are skilled at picking up on the subtleties of my criteria and turning them into gripping stories.
