This hospital has a lot technicals issues. You dont get your prescriptions to your pharmacy, your lab work done right or any other type of study you will repeat it at least twice to have it right. People waste time by going back and forth because something didn't look right on their studies or they just forgot to include it in the order and need to repeat them. And if you go external referral department is the worst in my opinion they just dont don't send the information.

Had my first baby on Nov 2023 and had to stay 4 days, the nurses are very lovely and caring, had to share the room two days and was a bit awkward but fine.
The only bad bad thing was that my baby had a problem and they had to take blood samples very often and one of the person who took one sample hurt my baby and I tried to complain but since I couldn’t leave the bed I had no response

My baby was born earlier this year at PMH. My father was there when my 1st child was born. So of course I wanted him there with me for the 2nd. He has gone above and beyond for me and his grandchildren. He made sure I made it to all my appointments and was there for me throughout my pregnancy. He was the only support person I had and these people were very disrespectful to him. They questioned me when he left the room like he was doing something wrong just by being there for me and his grandchild. Just because he's a man basically. Then when it came time for me to push they made sure to send my father to the farthest side of the room and made him sit there instead of letting him be my support person. Now, I know most ladies have their mom's. I do not. Wouldn't want that lady there even if my life depended on it. My mother has never been there for me. My father has and always will be my biggest supporter and it breaks my heart that they treated him any different because he wasn't a lady or my mom. He had every right to be there with me and be my support person. But they took that from him and made it stressful for me by making him sit to the side because he's a man. So it's okay for a male doctor to deliver a baby but it's not okay for a father to be there for his daughter when his grandchild is being born? How rude and heartless! I believe this hospital owes me and my father an apology. He is a good man and a great grandfather and didn't deserve to be treated like that.

Incredibly rude staff. They left my wife bruised from attempting to take a blood sample. Any question I would ask to staff members would be answered rudely as if we were below them. They spend their time laughing away in their break room while we would be left alone for hours wondering when anyone is going to update you. I’d rather drive 2 hours to San Diego than come back here. Stay away!!

I went to the emergency room at Pioneer, due to extreme pain in my abdomen. Some tests were given to me. The doctor came into my room about an hour later. He told me that I have colon cancer. I was in shock, and devastated by the news. Fast forward, I tried to get Pioneers clinic to give me a referral for a colonoscopy. I had been a patient of theirs for years. Long story short, they never gave me the referral. I eventually became a patient of another clinic. I was actually able to get a colonoscopy done. Turns out that I was misdiagnosed. I did not have cancer at all. Do not go to EC Regional, Pioneers Memorial Hospital & Clinic. Find a clinic in San Diego, or anywhere outside of the Imperial Valley.

IF you (MOM to be) can give birth to your baby else where please do. MEXICALI Gen Hosp would probably give you better med attention than this place...very disappointed w the staff in the labor and delivery department ...

Dr. Kevin asks me "who are you!". I respond "who are you?" Because he tells my mom he doesn't have the authority to say this but you have cancer. I told him she has a bezoar and only needs a 12 hour Coca cola gastric lavage.
I know everyone is trying to make a dollar but unnecessary surgery is the worst. Ramon the security guard is great.
No one in my family lives in San Diego but nope you are going to San Diego. I have to rescue her from there as well. We live by UC Irvine. The chubby nurse was insulting me because I use A.I. to cure her non-surgically with an article published by the NIH. They don't even know what that is...

. I only come here for services because it’s the only other hospital in the valley , ECRMC and PMHC both are no good.
So here’s a couple of my experiences there. First one being the most recent.
Just delivered my baby on a Saturday morning at 36 weeks.. he needed up needing treatment for jaundice so he was sent to pediatrícs on Sunday ..Once I was discharged from maternity on Sunday morning. went to stay with him. He had high levels of bilirubin and his glocuse was low so he needed to eat. He wasn’t latching on for breast feeding and his bottle feeding was very weak. I was unable to stay with him at certain times the next Monday and not at all that night. So I didn’t know how he was doing with the bilirubin levels and the eating. When I got back to be with him Tuesday early morning I asked the nurse how he was doing and she laughed .and said there’s nothing wrong with him he’s fine and left the room she didn’t even tell me when his last feeding was and how his levels were which is basically what I wanted to know when I asked how he was doing. There were a couple other incidents with our stay there , like my baby was fed those little formula bottles that you just open and attach a nipple . Those are good for only an hour after opening!!!The nurse there fed him from the same bottle in 6 hours. I know because she said so and she documented it on the feeding chart.
Brought my daughter to the ER because she had been sick for weeks with fevers and diaper rash and diarrhea that wouldn’t go away. They wanted to get a urine sample from my 1 year old because she had symptoms of a UTI , so I agreed. The problem is they sent an inexperienced nurse to practice on her, this nurse attempted to collect a sample with a catheter 3 times, first time it went in my daughter screamed in pain and pee went everywhere. So we waited to try again later ..she tried again 2 more times nothing came out except my daughter pooping herself out of pain , screaming and crying. At that point we had been there for hours. was going to leave and I let other nurse know that I was leaving so finally another nurse came in to get the pee sample
She did it fast successfully you could tell by how she handled herself in the procedure that she was an experienced nurse.
My baby did have a UTI and needed antibiotics so at least we got a diagnosis and treatment.
There’s more to my experiences not enough time or patience to write it all. But over all some of the employees at this hospital lack training, empathy, respect and knowledge . People do not like their jobs .
This hospital isn’t as good as it used to be if you can afford the trip elsewhere go to San Diego, cause the hospital in el centro is just as bad as this one, I know I worked there (not a health professional) and what I saw from nurses and cns , obs… is shameful.
Make the trip to SD.
