Had a great wonderful experience with the whole Company and staff members of this wonderful amazing organization. They reach my son where the two previous places I had to taken my son to weren’t able to get him to open up to them entirely. My son felt so safe comfortable, and the resources they had, he finally open up to them truthfully, honestly, and most importantly they didn’t judge him. He didn’t feel ashamed of himself there he was willing to get the help he needed finally, and it was because of tutelage and the passion and patience of their staff. I truly recommend this place Hillside Horizon if your child is in need of any kind of mental or substance abuse. They have a lot of fun at the house which a lot of places do not they still get to enjoy being children and have great amazing outings so they get to with the other clients in the household, truly amazing place can’t say enough about this organization. It was a blessing to our family that we have found this place.

We recently had to help a family friend find treatment for their child, as you can imagine this was a very stressful time. Hillside made the process so easy. They were kind, compassionate and informative. We genuinely felt like they cared about their needs of the child. The facility was clean and beautiful. The therapies they use are very well rounded to cater to all different types of kids. We were very impressed with our experience. We recommend Hillside to everyone going through something with their teen!

My daughter came to Hillside Horizons after being in a facility that did not care for her very well. The very first day she arrived I could tell she was already beginning to feel better. She is so much better, she feels better, she looks better. They take good care of these kids I promise you will not be disappointed. I’m so grateful for the staff Taylor, Caitlin, Hedley, Alison , Mike, and the team of psychologist and doctors… I could go on with the list of names. I truly see them changing lives in our youth today. I recommend this place for your teen. You will not regret it. Blessings to the staff of Hillside Horizons! Keep up the good work!

My girl was in this residence for almost 2 months. This facility is so different from the rest of the facilities I’ve looked at. My girl stayed in residence because she wanted to. She’s allowed to make a call for 15 min in the morning and 15 min at night. She’s given a schedule, list of chores, and was rewarded with an allowance. They took them out to the gym and to fun places. They also treat them to a big outing once a month.
Through multiple group sessions everyday, my girl learned how to communicate better. The therapist also recommended a book for us to read and gave her a copy. The staffs were very nice to her, which made me feel at ease.
Throughout her stay, I was able to visit her twice(since we live out of state). We also had weekly virtual family therapy, which was a great help.
I would highly recommend this place. It teaches the kids to have a life and work balance through point system, which is more realistic and fun, than just being kept inside the facility.
It makes them look forward to tomorrow.

Hillside Horizon was a God send for my 16yo son and myself. We were on 3 years of a self destruction path. Everything from drugs to self harm. 3 different facilities before I found this one.
Jeremiah, first I'd like to start with. Incredible asset to the team, my son really enjoyed his encouragement and welcoming as did I.

Hector was amazing. So real, he doesn't sugar coat things, he puts them in perspective for your child and you. Brilliant man, I can't say enough that this is his calling.

The entire team super focuses on my child for the best treatment to help. Every kids is different, not many Mental Health facilities dig deep and observe to correct your child and help them understand how to help themselves.

My son has been home for 2 months now, yes, we've had set backs, teenagers are not going to be perfect but he has learned to control his anger, addiction, self harming and disrespect. 3 years I have reached for help everywhere. I spent days on the phone trying to find help for my son, in them 3 years we almost lost him twice. God put Hillside in front of me for a reason. I am a single mother who was desperate to get help, to save my baby. Hillside saved him.

They will pour everything they have into your child and experienced to know exactly how. An answered prayer.

Our 13 year old son was recently admitted to this program over the summer (and just released 12 days ago to come home). There are extremely concerning circumstances surrounding his sudden release, where Hillside Horizon offered to pay for a next-day flight home for him (across the country), despite having a scheduled release date only 4 days later. Since the flight, we have had zero success in getting into contact with anyone at the facility regarding concerning details our son shared with us - as well as the reason for such a sudden, early dismissal from the program. It very much seems as though this facility is more concerned with financial gain than the actual progress of their clients.

As a certified trauma-informed educator in Michigan, I am highly concerned and frustrated with the lack of flexibility and willingness to acccommodate the individual client at Hillside Horizon. Something as simple as asking the client to draw an answer to a therapeutic "homework" assignment instead of writing the answer seems to be a simple, logical alternative that could offer the same therapeutic result.

While this program is not the worst of teen residentials in this country, it surely has some work to do regarding its morals, appropriate accommodations, and family communication / aftercare.

My daughter learned such amazing skills while at Horizon and we loved the staff so much! It was hard to leave her in a place so far from home, but knowing that she was going to be cared for made a huge difference for us. We are now several weeks out from picking her up and are so happy with how she is handling her stressors

Hillside Horizon has been a blessing for our family. Our adopted son has suffered from attachment issues and other mental health challenges for over 6 years. He has been to several RTC facilities and multiple visits to local hospitals. He had stopped trying to do school work. He came home from Hillside Horizon more considerate of how his actions affected us, more cooperative, more willing to engage in conversations about his feelings, and willing to try school work. Staff worked hand in hand with us through his stay. They listened to us. When they wanted to use a stimulant for his ADHD, we told them we did not like the idea because stimulants made him more irritable in the past. They listened and did not try stimulants. We are grateful for the growth our son made at Hillside Horizon.
