Working with Jeff Young of Universal Publishers has been an excellent experience in every way. Jeff is very professional, well organized, and patient with someone like me who didn’t have much experience with book publishing. The rapidity of his responses was absolutely impressive! Many publishers, at least those I have dealt with, are not like that. The book he published, “Beyond the Handsomeness,” is the biography of a classical musician who died many years ago and was relegated to obscurity so it wasn’t simple to find a publisher. It is beautifully done and I’ve had several compliments about it. Many of the audience for a book like this are musicians, researchers of classical music, professors of musicology, and prolific writers on the subject. They think very highly of it. In addition, quite a few of the readers know nothing whatsoever about classical music but just simply enjoy biographies. Jeff did an impressive job and any author who has the opportunity to publish with him should definitely take the opportunity to do so!

I have published two books with Universal Publisher under the directions of Jeff Young. Universal Publisher and Jeff operate in a fashion that allows the author to have full creative control. Jeff provided good publishing advice and was respectful of my wish to determine each aspect of the book from the cover to book summary. This is the publisher for any author who wants to have a voice without any dilution of original material. I was very satisfied with how Universal Publishers handled everything with regard to development, publishing and marketing. The only drawback in marketing was not making the book available to brick-and-mortar bookstores, but that is understandable with a small, independent publisher. Jeff has been a pleasure to work with and was very helpful in getting a suitable title and the final cover design for the book. He has also done a great job with on-line marketing and making ebooks available for people to review, although I am still waiting for many of those people to write reviews.
