I'm a German writer of 40+ novels and Brooks coached me to write my first screenplay. It was quite the challenge because I wrote it in English, (outside my native language.) But because of Brooks' experience as a successful screenwriter himself, it's been a great process. He lives his own motto that you should have fun doing what you love. His coaching style is 100 percent encouraging, and yet he doesn't let you walk away before you have the best script you can possibly write. I was unsure of what to reasonably expect from working with a screenwriting mentor. Would I see an improvement in my writing? And even if I did, would it be an impactful enough improvement?
