Alliance Tutoring has been an excellent resource for my daughter who was dubious that tutoring would help. Her grades and her ACT scores have vastly improved with the guidance from Archer. The most telling result is her asking for more time with him and that she wanted his help to prep for finals. My son is a junior in high school. He is smart but struggles with test taking, so I went through Alliance Tutoring and worked with Alex to find my son an appropriate tutor. After listening to his academic story, Alex placed my son with a tutor who he thought would be a good fit. My son immediately connected with his tutor and looked forward to their weekly sessions (this alone was surprising). The academic school year is now in full swing and my son's progress is not only visible in his tests and grades, but also in the way he approaches his subjects and studies. His general commitment to his academics is worlds different from last year!

I have to say a few words about his tutor: I've listened in on some of their sessions and I'm truly impressed with how his tutor approaches learning. Most tutors stick to reading through the question/problem, finding the answer and discussing the process in finding the answer or solving the problem. This tutor brings in so much more to each question/problem - he talks about real-world application, etymology, relatable history and personal experiences as well. He can also tutor in just about any subject!

Transitioned to our Son for various college prep opportunities. Archer was our son’s mentor during what typically stressful time. Archer is calm, collected and so very wise. We originally went to Alliance to get help for my son Jack, a junior in high school, who was having executive functioning issues and needed help with college level algebra. Alex, at Alliance immediately paired us w/ one of their tutors, Matt. That, as it turned out, was a great fit.

Matt's tutoring technique was exceptional. He explained not only how to do things but did deep dives into why we do things. His lessons and explanations were so interesting my wife and I found ourselves listening in. (...sorry Matt!) My Son Jack looked forward to the sessions and came away from the experience not only more organized and informed, but more importantly, inspired.

I found Alliance tutoring in the middle of the night after an agonizing day with a child frustrated with her pre calc course. I can’t say enough great things. They are AMAZING!!! Alex was able to quickly find a great match for my daughter and she had a session the very next day. Since then She has gotten a 92, 96 and a 100 on the last three tests respectively and has been officially recommended for AP calc for next year. She has had a few sessions with Archer, her tutor, She still gets extreme anxiety and has asked to take the test in a silent study environment but her teacher even commented that her class work is gaining confidence !
