This is a wonderful organization. One of the benefits that this program provides is one on one tutoring. It allows you to begin at the student’s exact level and delve deep into specific areas that each individual person needs to develop.
All materials are provided to you as well as assistance from any number of others within the program. Unlike other volunteer organizations, you set your own hours and field that you wish to teach. Basic Literacy, Math or ESL tutoring is available. Being a tutor with AACLC has been one of the most rewarding experience of my life.

The Anne Arundel County Literacy Council empowers people to achieve. When I was looking for ways to give back to my community, the AACLC was the perfect match for me. Excellent opportunity for local volunteering in AA County. Very well run and organized by committed, compassionate residents who are making a difference in the lives of low income adult students and their families. Any adult in AA County looking for assistance with the GED, NEDP, English Language Learning, math, or basic literacy will find free and convenient help through the AACLC and its caring trained tutors.
