When it came to publishing my first book I did not know where to start. I did a google search and found Beyond Publishing in Frisco / Dallas Texas and decided to give them a shot since they had good reviews. Fast forward a few months later my hardcover, paperback and ebook have launched and we're about to do the Amazon Bestseller campaign for my book A FRIEND WORTH HAVING, check it out, it's a great read!

I’ve never written a bad review before, but people need to be aware of my experience with Michael. Before I even gave him my book, he invited me to an event, put me on stage for a brief moment, took a picture, and later claimed this was the speaker engagement promised in our contract.

He also described “opportunities” as weekly calls with his clients, which he calls a mastermind, but these are more about bragging about him.

Another red flag: He charges $1,000 to upload an audiobook. But instead of handling the process, he sends you a video on how to record it yourself and then uploads the files, which is the easiest part! Other companies do this for a fraction of the price. In the end, you do all the work, while he charges $7,000 just to attach his company’s name, a name that, frankly, isn’t associated with top-tier publishing.

So, be aware. The process is misleading, and the value doesn’t align with what he promises.

Now, a year into the process, I was HORRIFIED to find that my book contains spelling, grammatical, and syntax errors. When I submitted my manuscript, I was told that I did not need major editing, just spelling and punctuation. Which I was told would be handled by staff. It was not.

I later found that many of the services advertised as ‘included’ were only offered as an additional charge.

For example, I was led to believe that I would receive assistance with the audiobook but later was told ‘you record it and we will get it submitted’ for a $350 charge. Something I can easily do for free myself if I’m also recording it myself.

After using this service, I found that everything provided I could have done myself for much less money. Also, all of the promises of promoting your book are at an extra cost.

I never received the official copyright for my book but had to go online and submit and pay for my copyright myself, since Beyond publishing promised that it was included in the fee I paid but they never provided it.

Overall, the $3-5,000 charge is not worth it at all and people self-publishing can do so with very little cost and the same result by researching tools offered for free by KD Publishing.
