The office seems very nice-from the outside. I drove out to Dallas seeking representation for my first book, or at least information on how the process works. The office doors are locked and I was only allowed to speak to the receptionist when she stepped out into the hall. I am completely green to the business, and was really hoping to meet a representative that I could build a relationship with but the lady that spoke with me at the door didn't let me inside. She gave me an email address to submit my work to and told me the company only works on referrals. Since I didn't get any questions answered, I'll go back to researching as much as I can online . Its discouraging as a new author to have this kind of experience. I've heard writing can be an exclusive industry so maybe this is typical? In all fairness, I didn't have an appointment. In the meantime, I'll have to self publishing on Amazon like I had originally planned until I figure out how to get a referral.

They answered the phone and listened to what I had to say. They were very helpful. Even if they don't accept your manuscript, they are worth talking to.

I have heard back from a Literary Agent, but I see that this agency needs to really get to see my adorable children's book about Jesus returning through the clouds on the back of a sacred cow.

She's the best out there but caters to celebrities and their kids. Hard to sell a book idea or anything here!!
