Long story short, we have not very complicated taxes and the price continued to rise until last year when It was $1000 for a joint return for a very uncomplicated couple. In addition, mistakes were made on that return and when I asked them to perform an amendment they wanted to charge us another five to $600. When I asked how we could reduce our tax burden, basically we’re given no answer and brushed off. Not a good value in my opinion and we won’t be using them ever again.

Reply to E&B response: Note, none of my statements refuted. The mistakes made were mine on an initial checklist, but for $1000 I would hope that my CPA would do a thorough review and catch those mistakes by comparing previous years. I also would not expect a $500-$600 charge for a fairly simple amendment. This was an expensive and disappointing 3 year experiment with Edwards and Barber.
