FAKE COMPANY!!!!

This is a horrible company. Hired them for book promotion and distribution for my book. They made lots of promises about marketing and selling my book both paper back and hard cover with distributors. Until today, I have not received any proof about these sales nor any royalty payment. It's been 3 months since they promised they would do the first royalty payment, and it's all been lies since then, saying that they've had problems with the distributors and that they will do the payment the following week. Well, it's been now 3 months with no payment done, and I'm just hearing the same excuses on and on!

Do not fall for the amazing reviews online as they all seem to be fake ones. They use book covers from books they've not even worked on on their website.

Be aware and avoid them at all costs. They are just a scam, and just keep asking for more money to do the job, but they will never finish or do the job! Do not fall for this!!

Update: They are thiefs. Stole my money and never gave it back. I did not receive any royalty payment or results from them. AVOID THEM AND REPORT THEM

My name is Pat D. Lane and have a self published book, an audiobook up on three platforms and an ebook on Amazon/Kindle. We were looking for a company to promote all three when we found Elite Book Writing. Martin McCoy’s enthusiasm was infectious when we told him this project's primary goal was to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Oasis Foundation. This 501c operates the Oasis Academy for neurodiverse children, primarily those on the autism spectrum. We were promised almost daily by Martin of the things to come while his colleagues took shot after shot at me trying to upsell me. We always replied, SEO and marketing, nothing else. Two months into the contract, we were told our website was insufficient to perform SEO requirements and we paid for a WordPress site to be built by them. Concurrently, EBW asked and received a PDF of the book and we were told that they would put the ebook up on multiple venues. It did not get put up anywhere except Amazon. They offer a copy of the book. I’ve never seen a copy of it. Google my book, the Amazon offer comes up before the website.
Our next communication with Elite was with Michael Kenway, Sr. Marketing Manager who informed us that EBW terminated Martin McCoy and he was our new go to person. We discovered quickly, EBW was far from professional and they didn’t maintain any records as Michael was completely lost and we were half way through our contract and hadn't accomplished a thing. Three months of aggravation, chaos, phone conversations and business agreements made, walked out the door with Martin. I insisted that I be allowed to speak to the executive officer but was refused any contact with that person by Mr. Kenway. Subsequently, we didn’t get off on a good footing and I asked him to convey to that executive personally that I said he is a coward. Michael did his best to placate us and introduced us to our Social Media Manager while trying to upsell me with a billboard sign. The social media lady was probably qualified, however her accent was so strong, we simply couldn’t communicate with her. We informed EBW via email of several problems and nothing was ever done. By now we were convinced that we have been scammed by a faux company. After refusing Michaels pitch for a billboard sign, we had no further communications with Elite Book Writing for weeks. With less than 7 weeks left in the contract and zero deliverables received, we were contacted by Elite’s third person to complete the job. Enter Duane. He never gave us his last name but had enough stroke within the company to get work started on converting my website. Since we had paid for the upgrade to the website, nothing was done, zero SEO work, no marketing and yet to produce a single social media post. Our contract was up in the middle of August. We think the website is sound but it has yet to be turned back over to us. Elite refuses any communications with us. We have written a litany of letters without a single response and we hope the information you have read prevents someone else from being scammed by Elite. If they don’t have a problem scamming a charitable organization, what do you think they will do for you?

This company is an absolute nightmare. Authors Beware!

I am appalled to see a company operating like this in the United States. I have spent 10 months dealing with them, which has been an absolute nightmare. The only consistent thing they are able to do is fabricate reviews.

This company is totally dysfunctional and has made my life living hell. I am shocked other writers have not complained, but once again this reiterates the credibility of reviews. I entered into an agreement with them in September 2022 and expected to receive my royalty payments by 2/28/2023. This hasn’t happened. They do not answer calls or respond to emails or texts. Authors beware! This company is totally unethical.

Not only am I waiting for royalties from this company, but paid them to do marketing, publishing, and an audiobook. It has been 10 months, and I still haven’t received a quality book trailer, audiobook, SMM, SEO, Wikipedia page, or Google preview. I purchased a platinum marketing plan- but I am still waiting for the trailer. The first draft was a powerpoint with 3 slides with Google images. My project has been switched to five different program managers, each more dysfunctional than the last, with absolutely no oversight. They never published one thing for me or completed the audiobook. They shipped me printed books with the wrong cover twice! This company is incompetent with total disregard for authors. Fellow authors: Do not allow yourself to be taken advantage of, and my only hope is that this very long review prevents other writers from experiencing the same fate and agony.

If you are an author looking to promote your novel, AVOID Elite Book Writing LIKE THE PLAGUE. I have decided to do a charge-back against Elite Book Writing. On April 7th, I paid $2,000 for a promotional campaign on my novel Celestial Navigation. They promised a logo, website, social media posts, news blasts, etc. etc. I ended up doing all the work and I began to question what I paid them for. That was before they started ghosting me three weeks ago, refusing to answer any questions and not responding to repeated texts, emails, and phone messages.

Their idea of a logo was simply my name in the ugliest possible font. I suggested something a little simplier that tied into the domain name that I had purchased. So I made a crude mock-up of what I wanted and they essentially copied my design but didn't bring much to even elevate it. Their first attempt at the commercial-like trailer for my book was laughable. No one had read my book (which is a period piece about two Midwestern teenage boys in the early 1970s) and the trailer had two Asian men bonding over cellphones and laptops (non-existent in the 70s), ignoring my written copy onscreen that clearly said "BOYS."

The website design they asked me to approve was clearly just a template on which they had done no work beyond putting my name on one page and my novel's title on another with nothing but dummy text throughout. I sent better photos, including a personal pic for my Author's Page, and I submitted written material for each one of the pages, in addition to writing several blog posts to flesh out the site. Three times they asked me to proof the website that I rejected without making any of the changes I sent them. I wondered why I had had to fill out at least 10 different questionnaires, which was supposed to explain in detail what my novel was about so they would not have to read my book. I don't think they looked at a single one of them.

For the social media calendar, they created some 15 posts, but again it was clear that no one had ever read my novel. Someone must have looked at the Contents Page and saw all the meteorological terms as Chapter headings (the book title and Chapter names are METAPHORICAL, not literal) and read only the first page which uses Vikings as merely the story's launching, so they assumed incorrectly that my novel was science fiction about intergalactic Vikings. Half of the social media posts were just plain wrong and had nothing to do with my story, ie. "Viking Beliefs", "Learn about Sunspots and Satellites", "Across the Universe". The hashtags were about planets, solar systems, galaxies, the Cosmos. Everything was wrong. You get the idea.

I sent my project manager a very lengthy email documenting the wholesale revisions that had to be made to the entire social media campaign. I talked to the social media person on the phone. Both were impressed with my incredibly detailed instructions and joked that I should be working for the company. And then all communication stopped. Waiting each day for some response, any response, I started to realize that the only tangible proof of my promotional campaign was the revised trailer. That was the possible lure to placate me, thinking they were doing the work, while they absconded with my $2,000.

I went to my bank yesterday afternoon to make a claim for the charge-back against the company, something I have never had to do in my life. As I was explaining the situation to the bank manager, I just burst into tears. I just want people to discover my little book, which is very personal to me but universal in its message. Elite Book Writing claims to be an expert, promises you the world, and then expects you to do all the work that you paid them to do. ELITE BOOK WRITING IS A GARBAGE COMPANY. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING. It's better, cheaper, and easier to do everything yourself, because they were no help at all.
