I tried to write a memoir and tried with two different authors and was deeply disappointed. They didn’t really ask me any kind of probing questions when I was telling them my story. I should’ve realized something wasn’t quite right. Then when I received my initial draft, it sounded like it was written by a 9 year old who only had a slight grasp of English, and definitely not a published author. It was bad. First, the person who reached out to me to discuss it WOULD NOT stop hounding me and trying to get me to sign up. She would call 5-6 times in a row until I answered.

After back and forth with them, I requested my money back $1,000 usd and they only gave me $500 back because they created the “outline” (which I essentially created. Even gave them the tone I wanted the book written in, but they did not listen).

Very disappointed and the experience has soured me from using another ghostwriter. It’s a shame because my story should be told

Worst experience with a twenty four page children’s book, they just couldn’t get it right. Took almost a year. Stay away!!!
