This is a beautiful, beautiful bookstore with dedicated sections for all age levels and interests. Specifically, the children’s section located upstairs is so inviting and warm. As a retired educator, I was especially impressed with the book selection and places for parents to read and select books with their children. Equally impressive are areas designated as reading or listening to books while enjoying thoughtfully-selected pieces of art. It appears, also, that the store could host special, small events. We loved our visit and will go back!

Very cute, reminded me of bookstores I've been to in the northeast like Beacon Hill Books in Boston and Blue Hill Books in Maine. Not especially serious in terms of their picks but you can't blame a book store for selling Books people want to buy. Everything is precious and adorable. The outdoor Cafe was great, we really enjoyed our meal and I have no hesitation recommending a stop if you happen to be in the area.

Absolutely loved hopping into this bookstore. It is beautiful and cozy and full of light! Amazing selection! My husband appreciated the husbands corner of chairs so I could browse 🙂 Picked up some books for my children too—don’t miss going upstairs. What a great gathering place for book lovers.

One of the best bookstores I’ve ever visited. The space was beautiful and incredibly cozy, and the staff super friendly. Great selection of books, with some vintage/signed copies for the collectors! It looked like an airstream coffee shop was opening on the patio – what a perfect addition.

Godmothers is a nice little boutique bookstore in the quaint town of Summerland. Style and aesthetic fit well with other businesses in this little seaside town south of Santa Barbara and north of Carpinteria.

The decor style is well done and feels warm without feeling cluttered. The selection of books feels more curated than comprehensive; obviously this is not a Barnes & Noble with a vast selection of books.

Still, there are a variety of sections ranging from children’s, self improvement, fiction, biographies, and so on. There’s also a nice little selection of rare and/or signed books, some of which are priced at several hundred dollars a copy (such as a copy of Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood“).

There was no event or reading when I visited but there’s clearly a space to accommodate such an event including lighting, audio, and a slightly raised albeit small stage.

If you’re in the area it’s certainly worth dropping in to take a look.

Super cute new bookstore with a great space and good book selection. Lots of books which are perfect as table books or gifts. They plan to open a cafe in the patio in September.
