I would highly recommend this place to any high school student, especially for college counseling and ACT/SAT prep. They helped me get a 36 on my ACT and 800s on multiple SAT subject tests. Thanks to their help, I've been able to maintain a high GPA since freshman year and got accepted to top schools that I would have never dreamed of. I can't thank them enough, and I hope other students will be able to receive all the benefits I did of attending HEC.

I took my summer ACT class here and got amazing results. I began with a constant score of 26 but after one summer of lessons, my score rose to around 30-32.The class consisted of constant practice of past registered ACT exams (in a real test setting) and reviewing and learning main topics on the test. I took this course the summer before sophomore year and when I was required to take the PACT, I scored a 34 and had a predicted score of 32-35. The results showed immense growth. Plus I made some great friends along the way!

The only place I have received tutoring at in my 4 years of high school. I've taken all sorts of tutoring here, from precalc to SAT to SAT Subject tests. I improved my SAT score from a 1440 to a 1570, my Math Subject test from a 700 to 800, US History from 720 to 800, and many more. His lessons and other tutors are engaging, challenging, and provide many tips and tricks for learning. I couldn't have asked for a better experience here.

Our daughter's ACT went from 27 to 35 (out of a perfect 36) with 6 weeks of their Summer boot camp.

Before that, her Math II Subject test went from 630 to 760 out of 800 with just 3 private weekly tutoring sessions (and loads of homework).

So in essence; she went from low 25% bracket to high 75% bracket for her target school UCLA.

Vastly improved scores aside; the by-products may prove just as valuable. Study habits, testing skills, confidence boost, a peek into college level intensity, less future stress due to such high ACT scores in her pocket, and just straight-out gap filling for what she's forgotten or hadn't learned. Add to that the potential direct financial return in the form of scholarships and the fee becomes a very smart spend!

She's admitted. There is no chance in the world she would have even come CLOSE to this level of effort if she'd attempted self study, even if she could have stumbled on to the right online class. HEC has decades of experience and accumulated material aimed directly at this test, and to boot they hire MIT level tutors. They know what they're doing, and they care.

She's an incredibly disciplined and focused straight A student taking multiple honors classes at CDM, but that's simply not enough. The ACT and SAT are simply too broad; they include stuff she forgot 2 years prior, and other stuff she hadn't learned yet. Then there's the matter of test taking technique and practice practice practice!

In this 6 weeks, we estimate she's taken over 15 full practice tests either in-class or as homework, its literally about a 6 inch pile. How could it *not* improve!

Do yourselves a favor and check it out. I can't help but think that nearly every fellow HEC student will best her initial 27.

Its almost not fair - to the ones thinking they can just wing it because they're smart and get straight A's.

Finally a heads-up: The college councilor that recommended HEC (based on their personal experience with their daughter improving from 28 to 35) steered us clear of Kaplan. They're just not in the same league as HEC.

Be warned however, the pace is no joke. 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, loads of homework, demanding expectations. Our daughter had a panic attack at first, but once she resigned herself to the load, and particularly once she saw the score improvements, she was fully on-board!
