Daniel is responsive, responsible, intelligent and efficient. He worked well with my 16 year old and motivated him to do the work required to excel. And knowing my son, with all his executive functioning challenges, this was not an easy task.
My son improved his score from 29 to 33 and honestly can probably score even higher if he tries again because he has done so well on the practice tests. We are very happy with Daniel and highly recommend him! Thank you!!!

I was struggling to find an effective, yet affordable, ACT test prep tutor for my son, who's a high school junior. After reviewing Howard Test Prep, and all of the comments, I decided to give them a call.

My son was paired with Rick, who has been more than I could have dreamed! My son - who is not a fan of tutors in general - hit it off immediately. Rick's professionalism and preparedness in working with my son has been wonderful. He has been open and honest about what would, and would not, work to prepare for the ACT. My son had four short weeks, but the time was used very efficiently. Keeping up with the additional ACT-prep homework was important, and Rick didn't set an unrealistic work load, allowing him to keep up with his regular school assignments and extracurricular activities.

My son found Rick's instructions clear and easy to work with. It helped him go from a previous ACT score of 28 to a jump of 32! Four points after four weeks!

And, as a parent, I appreciated the reports provided after each session with details about the lesson and assigned work. I also liked the convenience of Rick coming to tutor in our home and working around my son’s nighttime availability. It made our lives so much easier.

I highly recommend Rick as a test prep tutor and would have every confidence to work with him again in the future. Great tutor, great guy!

As an upcoming senior, the college process was already daunting for me. While taking 5 AP classes junior year, standardized testing was something that I could not make time for. I struggled to stay on schedule to study for the SAT/ACT, and I could not find a personal way for me to take and succeed in the tests. I had taken SAT prep classes the summer before junior year, but the class setting was not suited for me to succeed in the test. After taking the ACT in December, I strongly preferred this test over the SAT. The only problem was I did not have a master plan for me to get my score higher, and I did not know how to approach a test that was apparently new to me.

One day while scrolling on Instagram, I saw an ad for the Howard Test Prep spring scholarship. The package included waived fees for the next two testing dates (April and June) while including test preparation with the owner, Daniel, himself, with practice tests I would be taking. I knew this was my chance to get help for a test I wanted to succeed in. I applied for the scholarship, and luckily, I was able to receive it.

Starting off studying for the April ACT, Daniel helped me master my skills for the reading, science, and math sections. Since those three sections were my lower scores, he aimed to have me succeed in these scores. He used the best preparation materials I have used, and he gave me tips, practice sections, and much more to help me increase my score. Looking at my binder with my old ACT practice tests, Daniel really took the time to create a study plan for me that would actually work.

Daniel's methodology is unlike any other tutor I have worked with. He has tips that make you "work smarter and not harder". As a student in AP Calculus AB and AP English Language during the time, I was used to over-analyzing and going great lengths to answer a simple problem. However, Daniel helped me break those habits especially with a test that focused more on time rather than thought. He taught me new calculator tricks that I would be able to use for the test, and ways I could cut down my reading time in order to have more time to answer the questions.

When it came time for the April ACT, I walked in with confidence. I was not expecting much since I only had about four weeks of tutoring, but I knew my score would go up. I used the tricks Daniel taught me, and what was important was that he put me in a mentality where I knew I would be able to succeed. When I got my results back 10 days after, I was absolutely shocked. I had gone from a 28 to a 33, a 5 point increase. My 33 was in the 98th percentile, and I was pretty much in safety zone for a lot of my dream schools that seemed to far to reach based on my first ACT score. In fact, my ACT score was a big factor into admissions into the Questbridge College Prep Scholars Program, a rigorous program where only about 28 percent of the nation's best high school juniors are selected to be part of the cohort.

Daniel's professionalism is also unmatched to any other tutor I have seen. He has a great communication system which made it easy for me to communicate with him whenever I needed a scheduling change. Although he does keep strict scheduling, his policies are worth the immense amount of preparation you will get. He tailors your schedule to fit you and not any other students. He focuses on your weak areas and maximizes the amount of time to work on them. He spends hours driving to help students get a higher score- something I respect out of Daniel and his busy schedule.

Thank you, Daniel, for the help and advice you have given me for success in the ACT! I will be sure to share your company around with my siblings, friends, and other family members. So whether you are a senior who's trying to complete their standardized tests in time for college admissions or a sophomore/junior looking into taking the ACT early, Daniel will help you achieve your goals.
