Awesome Experience! I took my son (5 years old) to a book reading and signing by Ms. Telcide-Bryant. My son was engaged, learning, and excited about the activities. The book, "No I am not! Says Kenny the Koala" was a fun book that teachers young readers how to deal with their different emotions. Ms. Telcide-Bryant incorporated vocabulary and comprehension skills into her presentation. The kids were eager to answer questions and learn. It was a really great experience that I would recommend to others with children.

The book, No, I Am Not! Says Kenny the Koala written by Joanne Telcide-Bryant and illustrated by James Telcide is so AWESOME! There are many lessons students and adults can learn/review, such as the use of dialogue, science/history interesting fact, unfamiliar words, prologue, glossary, elements of a story, etc. This book is great for helping students of all age/grade to learn how to write using their imaginations. The illustrations truly help bring the story alive. It's like watching an exciting movie, that you don't want it to come to an end!

I visited the Mableton Library today with my 2 granddaughters and we had a wonderful experience. Author, Joanne-Telcide-Bryant was there. She presented & read her book: No, I Am Not! Says Kenny the Koala. It was very informative, and educational. The girls had vocabulary words, reading compehension and a feelings sessions.They played bingo and Josh provide a drawing class of the Koala all relating to the book. Well done!!!

A great, entertaining and thoughtful lesson! My friend and I both attended Ms. Telcide-Bryant's reading of her book "No I am not! Says Kenny the Koala." What I loved the most, was that Ms. Telcide-Bryant did not just read her book, but incorporated learning targets throughout the session. My friend and I are both speech-language pathologist in the school system, and Ms. Telcide-Bryant's lesson is one that would work perfectly for a speech-language therapy lesson for young kids. She incorporated vocabulary, context clues, opportunities for inferencing, social language (emotions and how to deal with them), and continuously interacted with the kids throughout the reading. Every child, even the ones who were shy at first, was engaged and actively learning from Ms. Telcide-Bryant and Kenny the Koala.
