We LOVE this bookstore - we can always find great books here. They have a fantastic selection. But I have to be honest, every single time I come here, the young woman who works at the front desk (I believe her name is Sky) is SO incredibly rude to customers. I have several years of store management experience and I know the number one rule is to provide great customer service. I can’t believe the owners haven’t addressed this yet. She is quite literally going to ruin your business. The first time we shopped here, we were dumbfounded at how rude she was. I almost thought it was a joke. Unfortunately every single time we’ve shopped here, the experience has been the same. It really sucks because she makes me not want to continue shopping at such a neat spot! Please, I’m begging you, find someone who enjoys their job and enjoys helping people.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually left a bad review before but to the young woman working: dannnnng you really ruin the vibe of an otherwise magical place. So rude, so easily annoyed, what a bummer. I’ll likely try coming back here in hopes that I’ll find someone else working that day. It really is such a beautiful bookstore. But safe to say if she is working I’m turning the other way.

This was an awesome bookstore, I drove half an hour just to check this place out and I'm glad I did. They have a super fun DnD style map of their store, coupons for local businesses, cheap books, and a smile on their face. Will definitely be coming back for those mystery date with a book.

I just wanted to post about the experience I had/saw while browsing today. I love popping in to Lightly Used Books when I pass through town and the cashier at the front, i believe the owners daughter, is always the sweetest person. She is always willing to go out of her way to help me and others in the store with many issues.
Now to what happened today, there was a woman shopping whom I can only describe as a Karen, to the fullest extent, honestly I should have filmed it for one of those YouTube compilations because she would’ve fit right in. She had a dog with her that she was claiming to be a service animal. Now I’m not a California native I just travel out there quite a bit so I don’t know if the service animal training requirements are different there but where I’m from service dogs cannot be dogs that get “over excited” (her words not my description) or that try to lunge and attack other people. And that is exactly what I witnessed. This woman’s dog lunged at a little girl and almost attacked her. Sky was very professional in handling the situation and asked if the dog would be more comfortable outside. It’s worth noting that this woman was claiming the service doc was hers but the man with her was the one holding the dog. This woman began berating the cashier saying she was ableist for saying this. Sky at one point stopped talking and told the woman to let her know when she was ready to listen, which I found hilarious personally. Karens can’t stand grey stoneing. I’m beyond shocked at the audacity and arrogance of the woman and her dog that almost attacked a little girl and cannot praise the young woman Sky more for her professional handling of the situation.

Lightly Used Books is simply put AMAZING. The new owners showed me to the exact spot of the author I was looking for (Patricia Cornwell) and they had such a variety!! Every genre you can think of from Sci-Fi to horror to children's and even a Christian section. The shelves are tall maze like and filled with hard backs, 1st Editions and paperback as well! Stop by check them oit you won't be disappointed!!

This place is awesome for any kind of reader! They are sure to have a book you'll love and the prices are great. Looking for a signed first edition? They have those! The owners are super helpful and they don't mind if you spend an hour or two or three browsing. Go check out this bookstore! Before I forget, they have live music!
