Nancy Smith -

Nancy is a gifted public servant who has dedicated herself to listening to the people’s needs and acting to solve problems in Sunnyvale. What I think is truly special about Nancy, is her ability not only to network and lead organizations of consequence, but to start organizations that include and empower residents. She has that quality of leadership we have been missing in Sunnyvale: The ability and the will to look forward into our future and make the decisions that will grow Sunnyvale into an increasingly sustainable and livable city.

Nancy Smith is chair of the CNGF BOARD of DIRECTORS. She is a leader in sustainable urban land use development. Nancy Smith is committed to helping non profits like The California Native Garden Foundation in partnership with San Jose Evergreen Community College District develop job training programs, that will help the youth of Sunnyvale and other local cities fill the resilient jobs of the future. These jobs are focusing on fulfilling the Climate Action Plan that Nancy invited our student interns to participate in. These new job certification programs collectively will make jobs with zero carbon footprint. Instead of releasing CO2 into the atmosphere, students will learn skills that hold more carbon in the soil, while contributing to clean air, clean water and healthy soils. Nancy will continue this commitment to helping youth as mayor of Sunnyvale. I support Nancy Smith for Mayor of Sunnyvale. Nancy Smith is a great mentor. This summer interning with her, I learned not only how grassroots politics works, but how to build a campaign through teamwork, listening, and compromise. Nancy Smith's individual care and compassion towards everyone on her team shines through by her focus on others own passion projects.
