I was excited to work with Newman Springs to help publish my children's book "Four Sisters". However there were some issues that made the process lengthy, difficult and frustrating. The 4 step process of manuscript, pictures, page layout and then putting them together separately without the artist having the access, resulted in changes not being implemented and a lot of time asking for the same corrections to be made on the manuscript, pictures, page layout, about the author and back cover of the book. It felt like an AI program was being used since changes and wording which had been previously corrected had reverted back to the original uncorrected format. Correcting these changes that should already have been done also prolonged the process which zapped my enthusiasm and artistic process. The editor missed critical information and accuracy that friends pointed out was incorrect that should have been caught before finalization of process. Such as Muslims not eating pork was completely missed. Publishing was delayed many months to correct the issues which Newman Springs should have caught beforehand. Lyndie who was very helpful in the process and I felt she was also frustrated by changes reverting back or not corrected. More access to the editor and artist in the process would have been better than typing everything in writing to get the pictures, page layout land information the way that worked.
I am happy with the the children's book "Four Sisters". I am however concerned that it will not become seen or read by many. Even before publishing the children's book "Four Sisters" I was contacted by promoters who asked me to sign contracts with them and pay money to promote the book. Many promoters have contacted me all asking for money. These promoters told me that if I didn't sign or pay them, that most likely very few people would know about my book. I thought Newman Springs would better promote the book "Four Sisters".
