Good for all your basic items in a very convenient location. Pleasantly surprised and amused to see they stock aloe leaves. (As a Caribbean person who has this in her yard growing).

However it also loses points for the same reason- the downtown location makes it a hub for beggars looking for cash or food which is very sad and a bit offputting at the same time as we were approached on entering the supermarket.

I shop at this Publix weekly And spend an average of $1000- $1200 a month at this Publix alone. The deli / sandwich area always seems in disarray. The workers don’t help each other or customers. The sub line is ridiculous. Today, there were two people in front of me getting subs together yet I waited over 15 minutes watching ONE person make their subs while three others deli employees were at the other end of the deli …at the farthest point away from the sandwich line. One woman was watching popcorn pop another one was slicing meat. None of them had the decency to even look up or come help the ONE woman making subs. It took me shouting is anyone going to help” to get someone to make a move: Finally, the employee who was busy working the hot counter came over as soon as she was done helping those customers to help make subs while the other three still stood around and did nothing. She was super nice and helpful… but others still never moved and there were people behind me. They may have been doing another task, but when you have customers facing you waiting 15 minutes, they need to drop what they are doing and come make a sub for the paying customer! I would strongly suggest that The deli managers, spy on their employees one day to see exactly what goes on when they’re not there. They might be surprised what they find. There is no regard for the customer at all. Shopping was NOT a pleasure - for me or any of us that we were in the sub line this afternoon.

I’ve given Publix deli multiple chances with online orders, and every time, it’s been a frustrating experience. Orders are consistently late, whether prepaid or not, and it’s unacceptable. I’ve tried ordering ahead to save time, but instead, I end up waiting longer than if I had just ordered in person.

To make matters worse, the staff’s attitude leaves a lot to be desired. When I’ve politely asked about my order’s status, I’ve been met with eye rolls and dismissive responses, as if I’m the one inconveniencing them. It’s clear that customer service isn’t a priority.

I used to love Publix deli, but this repeated issue has completely soured my opinion. If this doesn’t improve, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Avoid the online ordering system unless you have time to spare and don’t mind poor service.

This review specifically concerns the deli. Unfortunately, it’s the busiest section of this Publix, yet it’s consistently understaffed. I’ve placed multiple online orders, and more often than not, when I arrive for pickup, I’m told it’s not ready. Just yesterday, there were customers whose orders from 11:30 AM were still unfulfilled by the afternoon. The single employee handling online orders was clearly overwhelmed, struggling to keep up with the high demand.

Management needs to address this staffing issue, especially during peak times like the lunch rush. Offering excuses or compensating with free products doesn’t make up for the frustration of long wait times and wasted time. A more efficient system and adequate staffing are crucial to improving the customer experience here.

Do NOT waste your time going during lunch hours to the deli. Extremely packed, they quickly run out of bread and tenders, the staff behind the counter could not take longer to assist you, no sense of urgency despite the line wrapping around the entire deli counter. The wait is east 20-40 minutes. Publix do better!
