I have used Student Treasures for a few years now, with my kindergarten classes. We become published authors as part of our intro to literacy unit. The students LOVE seeing their work in a book !! I have shared this process with my fellow kinder teachers and other coworkers. We love Student Treasures !

Publishing a book with Studentreasures has been a great experience. I use it at the beginning of each school year with my 6th graders. I use it to teach narrative writing. Studentreasures is easy to use, has great support and ideas on their website and the end product is very nice. My students love reading the books created in previous years. I highly recommend using Studentreasures with any age classroom.

We have had the best time becoming published authors. The kids loved their book. We ended with a red carpet party. The kids dressed to the nines. The kids entered the cafeteria on the red carpet with music. We had parents and community during our gallery walk (observe the kids poetry). Our state and county superintendents came and board. We had tons of parents and grandparents come. We received gifts and a special message from our favorite author friend, Alane Adams. The author sent her book and some gifts for the kids.

The book came out great! I would maybe do it a bit later in kindergarten, now that I have done it, as most of them needed a lot of support on the writing. I have a 4 out of 5 only because getting g all the letters back from parents, even if they did not want a book was very difficult and the letter very wordy for parents who do not speak English as a first language like many of mine, but not getting them all back was not held against me. It was a fun project!
