Everything I dream of in a book shop: knowledgeable staff, interesting and wide range of options, comprehensive selection within genres, out of the way places to sit, benches for browsing, and many choices to buy used. Limited hours, though, so check first! Basically a dream come true.

Could get lost in the winding stacks of books for hours. The store assistant, Kiki, the black cat, is excellent company. With every turn there are more books and beautiful murals. The children and young adults section is phenomenal. Extensive options in very genre, sub genre and speciality.

It's hard to find a bookstore like this now. I mean I love a good Barnes and Noble but a place with a huge assortment of used books is wonderful. It's like finding old treasures and it never gets old. I recommend this to any people from out of town and even take people here when I can. Great store!

One of the best bookstores I’ve visited in the Chesapeake Bay so far! Great selection and organized seamlessly. I was on the lookout for local authors and Chesapeake Bay specific writing, and they had a really great selection of both – historic and contemporary.

This is the most unique bookstore ever! You walk in the front door expecting a small store with some old books...but don't be fooled. It's much larger than you'd expect. It has little nooks, separate halls a section for children and beautiful old chairs to settle in as you peruse the thousands of books. I actually got turned around a few times! Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff and an adorable cat who likes to watch over the place. If you love books... you'll love The Bookplate.
