“Has Legs With Which To Stand”

The white Stork struts and strolls on long legs.
Pink Flamingo dancers have strange and unique habits.

Has a leg to stand on.
Once upon a time.
When mimicking mime.
Dumb ventriloquists sublime.
Love is for the divine.
I heard this in a clock tower’s hourly chime.

Years and days pass so slow.
Here below, the sky above.
I’m reading what is written.
The world’s splits, spinning ahead.

The sun is red and never was led.
Plastic covers the shores, it was said.

Something bathers ignore.
Asking what’s it all for?
Less than more.
Went to a bodega’s grocery store.
Music pouring from my roof.
Which I abhor.

Yet, peculiarly, I adore it.
Pacing my living room floor.
Watching all the golden gore.
No writing on the walls anymore.

I supported local Slam Poet Rob Esperanza with sounds on Kalimba with his spoken word poem "the World according to Rob" which I must say was explosive in content and delivery spot on ...

I highly suggest those who are members of the Sacramento Poetry Center cancel your memberships immediately.

Through a blatant coup, a new board named themselves, shoving out the most long-term volunteers on the board (who together make up 90 years of experience in serving on the board), without allowing paying members to have a voice in the operation (who desperately wanted a voice). It was very shady and underhanded, and something I’ve never heard of happening in similar non-profits. They also drove out a number of women who served on the board previous to this final massive overtaking, ultimately leaving only one (new) board member that identifies as a woman.

It was a truly appalling power grab. DON’T give them your money.

New poetry groups shall form and I suggest you keep a look out for those.

Absolutely wonderful to have a space to listen and share with so many amazing writers, poets and artists. Glad there is access to a bathroom, but I'll have to bring my wrench along to fix the sink knob!
