Cool local spot with warm your soul eats and a nicely curated selection of books. Well labeled sections with a children’s area, Pride Month picks and local Alaskan Authors. The cafe was busy even on July 4th with a tempting drink menu of coffee and spirits as well as Hot Chocolate for the littles. We got the Beans and Rice Bowl with Reindeer Sausage (the sausage is ELITE!), Beet & Mint Salad, and the Taboule Salad. Everything was so fresh and served with huge smiles!!!

This is a really nice and cozy place to hangout with friends or families. Very spacious, got comfortable coach, nice decoration. However, I have to say, the taste of the drink was disappointing. We ordered one cappuccino and one holiday special chai roobio, both taste quite watery :(. there are parents bringing their kids there so could be a bit noise when kids were playing together.

5 star place for sure!!
The food is delicious and is all made in-house. I got the taboule salad, and it was so nourishing. Also tried the breakfast burrito and reindeer sausage.
The reindeer sausage didn't come with a lot, but it was definitely worth the price. It was the best sausage I've ever had!!
Definitely recommend this place. 10/10!

Also, the Chai Latte was the best I have ever had.

I went to writers block for the first time on a Sunday at 12pm. I was surprised they had live music playing from 12pm-2pm. They have breakfast /brunch food and coffee. It's such a cute place to grab food and hang out with friends. I will definitely be coming back again

The service was incredible here! I had two lattes, one hot, one cold. Both great?such a cozy place in Anchorage. They also hold some events here as well, like poetry and the vibe is very peaceful. They have a wide selection of books for purchase along with board games and local music, very reasonably priced I may add. Will return in the future! 🙂

The name of the place intrigued us, so we walked there, and there was a singer/songwriter/guitarist playing! He's called Baker, @Bakerbakermusicmaker, and he was very talented. The food was good and the atmosphere very laid back. Lots of books line the cafe.
