My 14 year old son did a one week coding camp in the summer of 2023 and asked to sign up for coaching sessions. He has been doing 1:1 sessions for over a year and has had a great experience. They are very flexible and accommodating with rescheduling lessons and my son has enjoyed the sessions a lot. He has had 3 or 4 different instructors since he started and I wasn't sure what to make of it, but the transitions have all been good and my son has had good experiences with all of his coaches. He is not a serious coder and wanted to do it just to learn python and I think it was a good thing for him to do. I believe he has gained a good foundational understanding of python and have been pleased with the experience overall. Everyone on staff has been very pleasant, professional, and accommodating and I would recommend to anyone whose child might be interested in coding. Starting with the 1 week camp is best I think.

The Coder School Irvine has been an exceptional experience for our son! Mark, the owner, has always been incredibly available and supportive. He was a fantastic coach during our child’s summer camps, which was the reason our child became so excited about coding and wanted to enroll in more classes.
The classes are engaging and make learning easier and enjoyable for kids.

When we requested a recommendation letter from Mark, he was extremely helpful and promptly provided it. He was truly supportive throughout the process and always made himself available whenever our son had questions or needed guidance.

The coaches at The Coder School are knowledgeable and have a detailed teaching style. Our son has been thoroughly enjoying his time at The Coder School. The Coder School in Irvine ( Culver Plaza) has been a great place for our child’s tutoring in Scratch and Python.

Pros:
- employs well qualified UCI computer majors
- Offer flexibility in scheduling, anytime you prefer
- Great email class reminders and after lesson update with your child’s progress level
- 24 hour cancellation policy and accommodations on rescheduling or account credit if makeup can’t be arranged
- Isabella, the front desk attendant, is really helpful and prompt with email inquiries.
- My child was able to stay with the same tutor throughout the year.

Cons:
- we have not experienced any negatives so far.

TheCoderSchool has so far been a great experience for my son, as well as myself as a parent. My son enjoys his class very much, showing us his work after class and being excited to show off the games he's developed and fine-tune additionally at home. The school itself provides log-in info to access the class materials from home, and provides feedback on class progress for us parents by email. This kind of feedback itself is great, and the staff at the school are great as well. Mark, the owner-manager, is very patient and helpful and has been very kind in resolving any scheduling issues and mishaps and answering questions. We've loved our experience here so far. Thank you!

If your child is interested in coding or wants to learn, I highly recommend The Coder School. We looked into other coding schools, but we really liked that they offer Zoom lessons and are super flexible with arranging makeup sessions if you need to miss a lesson. They also send notes after the lesson so you know what they worked on. My son has been going to The Coder School for four years. He's enjoyed learning over the years and will apply to colleges with a computer science major in the future.

My son has been take the coding program for years, he loves the coding style that is follo his own coding pathway, the coaches are so professional, and nice. we are truly grateful to be there. and highly recommend this coding school.

My son has been coming here for almost a year now and he absolutely loves it! He started with the summer camp which was a great way to introduce coding to him and get him excited. He is always late coming out from class because he enjoys playing with the games he creates so much that he doesn’t want to leave! The coaches and staff are excellent. Mark is so accommodating to families and he provides a very safe and fun environment for the kids. I highly recommend this school!!
