If you’re looking to learn Spanish with someone who’s got the heart and passion for you to succeed, it’s Nick. He’s not a native speaker, so has gone through the weeds and knows how to help navigate you through the language learning jungle. It takes time, effort and commitment and by building the blocks, can help you either have fun touristy chats when you’re traveling, or intense business conversations. He brings a lot of worldly and educational experience, and makes learning easy and fun!

My mother is from Mexico, and I have spent time in Latin America, however, I was never able to grasp Spanish. I've tried countless apps, and language software to no avail. My one-on-one tutoring with Nick has seemed to be the solution to my inability to grasp the language.

Nick has been teaching me Spanish for roughly 15 sessions thus far. He has shown a tremendous patience and understanding equivalent to my skill level and ability to grasp the concepts. He appears to determine the speed and complexity of our sessions based on my individual need rather than a standardized curriculum.

After 15 sessions I feel comfortable writing a genuine review of my experience with Nick. At first, I began just wanting to be able to speak the language, but Nick has motivated me to take my understanding much further than I had even wanted to. I cannot wait to see what the end result is.

I've been studying with Nick for 2.5 years and my Spanish abilities have never been better and still improving. Nick gives you a good understanding of the Spanish language fundamentals, in a way that a native English speaker can comprehend, which is imperative for tackling a new language. He's never failed to answer random Spanish related questions, or dive deeper in concepts to make sure I fully grasp the lessons. I love taking Spanish classes with Nick and Gabby! I learned more with them in less than a year than in my 3 years of high school Spanish. I especially love how Nick focuses on what's practical for conversational Spanish. That is important because I want to be able to converse with locals when traveling in Latin America. Or even here in LA! Nick and Gabby will even let you know what lingo is common in different countries (for example Mexico vs. Chile). They are super knowledgeable and get straight to the meat of the material. This is especially important when working a full time job because I don't have time for years of homework and textbooks. I didn't believe I would actually pick up Spanish this quickly until it started happening within a few months! I look forward to using them as a resource in the future when I travel.

The folks at West LA Language are the best! I've been taking private lessons with them for a couple months now and am amazed at how quickly I have moved on to more advanced material! My sessions have been more productive than all the time I spent learning Spanish in high school. Luisa, Paco, and Nick are all accommodating and bring something different to each lesson. Looking forward to building on my foundational knowledge in preparation for my next trip to Guadalajara!

Nick taught me Spanish before my wedding last year because my wife is from South America. It was super helpful to get a head start that other resources couldn't help me with. For example, verb conjugation, grammar and simple tricks to communicate quickly.
