Hello! I’m a current graduate student working towards my California LPCC license with the goal of becoming a counselor and therapist, and I had the opportunity to recently speak with Patty as a mentor and new colleague. For an upcoming assignment, our class was asked to interview a current mental health counselor in our nearby area and I was able to get in touch with Patty through Psychology Today. After reaching out, Patty was very open to speaking with me, transparent about her journey into counseling, and even presented me with some tools I can utilize in my school project and future career. Overall, we had an incredible conversation and I am so thankful for Patty being so naturally welcoming. It’s no wonder she is doing great things in the mental health field and I truly hope everyone who comes by her page will take the opportunity to chat and experience her open arms, education, and decades of experience in counseling. Patty is wonderful as both a therapist and coach. I've worked with her many times over the years and have profoundly grown with her gentle and effective guidance. When I was doing therapy with her early on, I remember that I brought up an issue, and she asked me whether I wanted to address it with therapy or coaching. I asked what was the difference and she said that we could explore the past or discuss how I would like to move forward. Probably not her exact words but that was almost 10 years ago. My answer was "Coaching, please!" and have benefited from all of her wisdom. I feel extremely lucky to have found her.

I've known Patty Bechtold in a couple of different ways. We met through blogging and then I joined one of her women's circle groups. I loved that experience so much and Patty and I stayed friends. Then we decided to collaborate and have since facilitated women's journaling groups together. There are many things I love about Patty, but my favorite is that she goes deep. And she gets me because she listens to me. And I treasure those traits of hers, because they are rare in this world.

I met Patty about 7 years ago when we shared an office building. Patty at that time was coaching and I was amazed by the groups that she had going. She would have these lovely groups of women who would do art and grow both spiritually and emotionally. Patty then got her license as a Professional Clinical Counselor and expanded her practice even more to now help clients who may have some deeper work to do. Her experience as both a coach and therapist helps her to approach her work in a very current way. Not many people are looking for a "blank slate" type of therapist and Patty's experience and ability to provide both coaching and counseling is exactly what people need during both difficult times and times when they are just looking to make a change in their lives. Patty is an excellent therapist and coach who is warm, honest, engaging and thoughtful. Her groups as well as her individual counseling have helped countless women find their way to their best life.
