The books themselves are nice, but the company and customer service has ensured I won't continue purchasing their books.
I started a trial run with an educational book series for kids, and was pleased with the first arrivals as well as being reassured by their return policy and that I could cancel the auto ship any times.
Their subscription has auto ship which can be handy, but as with any subscription service, you need to skip it or cancel before shipping, return the item during the window of time you have to preview it and follow up if you've returned something and haven't been credited etc.
Again, the books themselves are great. I did return some off and on as we had our subscription for some time and we just weren't interested in some of the things they sent us to preview.
I decided to cancel our subscription, as we had amassed a great side collection of the educational books. I cancelled in the way they advise you cancel your subscription and believed everything was fine. The last couple of shipments I returned unopened as is the way to return shipments. I continued receiving shipments and being charged. I emailed and received no response. Then I called and tried to get my account cancelled, and the funds back for the shipments that I returned. The astoundingly unhelpful woman I spoke with was a stunning example of customer service. She was rude. On top of that she kept insisting that my returned shipments were credited but the shipping cost was deducted, which was absolutely different than the info sheets that come with every shipment. The company itself states that shipments returned unopened as "return to sender" are at their expense. I even emailed her a copy of the letter that states this. She assured me that she would look into it and discuss things with a supervisor after I emailed in all the information about the lack of credit for some returns as well as the incomplete refunds on others. This is course never occurred. All subsequent emails were ignored and my money was never refunded. I will never buy their products again and regret ever doing business with them. They do not back their satisfaction claims, their customer service is rude and they still owe me returned funds. Sad to say this is not a business that can be trusted.

I have never bought from the company directly but I have enjoyed their encyclopedias and yearbooks for decades. Among the best reference books I have ever owned.
